Luckily, I found what I was looking for faster than I expected. A very special stone back to over million years..

The Arabic word Dahek translates to English as “Laughing”. Locals believe that the name of the wadi comes from people’s reaction when they first see it. They smile or laugh revealing their ivory teeth that resemble the color of its massive chalk rocks.

With only two more in the world; Farafra in Egypt, Lençóis Maranhenses in Brazil, Jordan is home to the third unique white desert in the world...

Shaumari Wildlife Reserve in Jordan, is now home to some these of the rarest species of animals, as these Onagers, the extinct subspecies of onager native to the Arabian peninsula..

The blue Sinai Lizard (Agama sinaita) lives basically in southern Jordan in the mountains of Dana, Petra and further south. a lizard of rare blue posed under the sharp sun. As if carved out of lapis lazuli or malachite, hardly any motion except the fluctuating skin below the jaws, it stood brilliantly like a piece of jewelry of the most precious kind.

Wadi Rum also known as The Valley of the Moon is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan 60 km to the east of Aqaba.. it is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name most likely comes from an Aramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'. Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures–including the Nabateans–leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples.
